Bull Adds VSI to its Powerful Advantage Reseller Program
VSI will resell Bull's UNIX- and NT-based servers running its popular ERP software solution

BILLERICA, Mass.; Nov. 9, 1999 -Bull, a global supplier of highly scalable and highly available open systems, announced today that it has signed a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with VSI., South Bend, Ind.

Under the agreement, VSI will market its sophisticated
VS+™ (Manufacturing Systems Plus) ERP software running on Bull's Escala® family of PowerPC®-based AIX® servers and the Express5800® range of Intel-based NT servers, to end users in North America. The Bull-VSI partnership provides a new level of price/performance for mid-sized organizations who seek an alternative to more costly high- end ERP implementations.

Through this partnership, VSI becomes a member of Bull's growing Powerful AdvantageSM reseller program. Custom-tailored to each reseller's needs, this program provides sales, marketing and technical support for resellers' campaigns along with access to the latest open systems technology available. As a result, Bull Powerful Advantage resellers can offer their end users solutions that are complete and certifiably interoperable at an optimum level of performance.

Established in 1976, VSI. is a software development firm providing a customizable and component-based manufacturing, financial and distribution system known as
VS+™. The company has customers worldwide in manufacturing and other industries. VS+™ recently was rewritten using the UNIFACE development environment from Compuware Corporation. This implementation, according to VSI, has provided improved scalability for VS+™ to better meet the needs of Fortune 500 companies and to allow it to better integrate with legacy systems that support a variety of industry-leading databases.

"Bull has the resources not only to support us but also help us support our end users," said Mike Allen, vice president/director of operations for VSI. "Just as importantly, Bull provides an ideal combination of operating environments for our ERP solution. The Escala line is unmatched in the breadth of its range of binary code-compatible servers, allowing us to offer customers the widest choice of AIX processors for their business needs. For NT® environments, Bull's Express5800® address requirements from entry-level local and workgroup servers to powerful 8-way systems targeted at database and transaction processing environments at the enterprise level."

"VSI is an experienced, proven player in the ERP market and is well differentiated from other ERP suppliers through its business process modeling approach to addressing end user needs early on in the ERP deployment phase," said Stéphane Daudier, VP of open systems marketing & sales for Bull's North American Server Division. "Due to the component-based design of
VS+™, VSI is able to deliver a customized system to each user much faster than other ERP vendors can. This helps ensure more rapid and cost effective customer implementations. With the addition of VSI, Bull's Powerful Advantage Program adds an important ERP solution to the broad-range of solutions it currently provides its customers."
